I have AF – can I take part?

Sadly, even if you have AF and you live in York where the study is taking place, you can’t volunteer to take part in the feasibility study. That’s because, to test feasibility, we have to recruit through GP practices. GPs will be contacting their patients with AF on our behalf, and it’s important that the contact comes through them.

If you do live in York, and you have AF, you may get a letter from your GP inviting you to take part. But unless you get this letter, you won’t be able to enrol on the study.

If you are interested in trying acupuncture or nutritional therapy for your AF, there’s nothing to stop you seeing an acupuncturist or a nutritional therapist yourself! The therapists in the Santé-AF study are members of the British Acupuncture Council and the British Association of Nutritional Therapy and Lifestyle Medicine – members must have a degree-level qualification in the relevant therapy and must adhere to high standards of practice.
